New Look and New Focus in the New Year!
Welcome back after the holidays, and happy New Year to you all! Up until now, we have been focusing on the getting the Web site functioning easily and efficiently so that people from all over are able to:
- Access results from meetings both internationally as well as locally to see what the trends are
- Upload results themselves
- Use the site as a platform to submit comments, questions, opinions and even photos all relating to the NWS process
- Read and interact with the Grapevine Blog
Now that we have accomplished the above, and it seems to be working well, we are looking ahead to the next 6 months of this project and the needs that we anticipate. While we still are focused on gathering results from meetings and recording interviews that are happening, we also want to generate a "buzz" around the questions we see and hear arising from conversations taking place, meeting results, viewpoints being posted on the web, Grapevine Blog entries, etc.
The bottom line is this: In order for the New Wine/New Wineskins process to work as effectively as it can, we need and want to hear from as many people as possible. We want to know their questions, comments, fears, ideas, and hopes...so therefore we have decided to update the Web site to accommodate this need by focusing our approach in the following manor:
1. The site will now function around a monthly theme that will change at the beginning of each month with the following:
a. The "Question of the Month" will be launched with it written across the Home Page
b. "What's Happening" will go out telling everyone of the new theme as well as highlighting any other new changes/additions
c. The "Grapevine" Blog will be changed three times throughout each month (Arli Klassen, Don Peters and Rolando Santiago will be submitting their thoughts on the "Question of the Month" theme)
2. The left hand side menu has changed so that it clearly shows how to "get involved"
3. The videos are now all housed under one section called "Videos"
4. The large rotating photos on the Home Page will change monthly - so make sure you stay tuned!
Our goal is to have monthly themes that are controversial enough to get people talking, discussing and even pushing so that in the end, we hear from as many people as we can do.
You can help us by encouraging everyone you know to visit the site at the beginning of EACH month to see what question we post - and maybe they will feel lead to give us their opinion. What better way to gather as many voices as we can to help guide us in the months to come?
Thank you for all your help and support with this,
